Jack's Weather Report

9/20/19 Weekend Weather

By Jack Martin on Sep 20, 2019 at 03:18 PM

Good Friday morning,

The weekend is right around the corner, and our weather will be great.

Warming temps, off shore winds. Spell dry sunny weather. Highs in the mid 80s through next Wednesday. We will also see off shore northeast winds affecting Santa Ana areas at time. Nothing over the top, but it will keep us warm.

Take a look at the satellite picture. Cabo San Lucas is not the place to be this weekend.

9s and 1s in the date today.... it also looks like we will have a cooler day, with highs in the 70s. This will make for a perfect Thursday.

A low pressure system is passing though tonight and warmer weather is on tap for the weekend.

Good Tuesday morning,

Hope you enjoyed the picture of my roof. I accidentally sent them to the entire weather group....Oops!!

Our weather this week is really going to be consistent through Thursday.

We have a few systems that are dropping down from the Pacific Northwest.

Monday Morning Again

By Jack Martin on Sep 16, 2019 at 03:52 PM

Good Monday morning,

The work week is going to be nice with cooler temps all week.

Looking at the satellite, you can see the front washing out from the north as it approaches California.

This has increased the on shore flow and brought in a 1300 foot marine layer. This will keep us cooler for the day, with fog until late morning.

Highs for the day will be around 80.

Good Thursday morning,

If you were not up early enough with me, here is what the full moon looked like at 4:30 AM.

For our weather, you can see we are starting out with clear skies and soon to be sunny and warm conditions. High pressure is building back in and we will have hot weather through the weekend.

9/11/19

It is hard to believe it has been 17 years since 9/11. The memory of that morning is planted in my brain forever. I remember this morning like it was recent.

Time flies too fast....

For us today, weather wise, there is low pressure in the Pacific Northwest. This is not doing much for us.

9/10/19

By Jack Martin on Sep 09, 2019 at 03:45 PM

Good Monday morning,

We survived the weekend winds with no real fires. There is a mulch fire in Goleta, but seems to be under control.

From Mike:

Winds did vary in areas throughout the weekend. It seems like the forecast worked out ok. Winds gusted to almost 70 mph above the gaviota tunnel, which probably means 30-40 at the rest stop, and the hills above Montecito gusted into the 40s.
