Jack's Weather Report

10/30/2020

By Jack Martin on Oct 30, 2020 at 04:00 PM

Almost 10,20,30 for the date. Just 2 more days of October, they will be days of fantastic weather.

Just think, you could be in Boston at 30 degrees, or Chicago 38.

Last night was also perfect to be outdoors. Warm and another great sunset.

The forecast is really easy. Just Indian Summer weather in Southern California.

Highs will be 70s and 80s along the coast through Tuesday and 80s and 90s in the valleys.

Good Thursday morning,

Just great weather on tap for the end of October and the beginning of November.

Yes, Thanksgiving is less than 30 days away. Also on Sunday early morning, 3am we turn back the clocks.

This will allow all you late nighters to get an extra hour of sleep. For me I worry that I will now be waking up at 2 or 3 am each day.

As far as the weather goes we will have perfect weather for this time of year.

Good Wednesday morning,

This is a cool loop show how the day light turns to night over the Pacific Ocean.

You can also see how off shore flow is keeping any and all clouds out to sea:

The real story however is those Dodgers, World Series campions for the first time since 1988.

Good Tuesday morning,

If you are waking up in Solvang it is a crisp 37 degrees. Yes that’s chilly.

Orange County, wind and fires are your morning. Off shore winds will make the coast of Long Beach and Newport smoky.

Here in SB, 52 degrees starts your day, with a high of 70. Perfect fall weather for us.

Good Monday morning,

This is a great graphic to see what is happening with the off shore winds.

Take a look at the north to East to west winds pushing any marine layer well off shore.

The story for the first half on the week will be off shore winds and lots of sunshine.

Good Thursday morning,

It is wet out there this morning. The drizzle has dampened the streets and the marine layer is 3500 feet thick.

This will lead to a wet start to the day and likely no clearing. Also the wet streets are leading to accidents. 101 at Gaviota has 6 different accidents this morning, another one on the 154.

This pattern will continue into Friday where we should have another damp morning. Highs will be chilly with upper 60s along the coast and low 70s in the valleys.

Good Wednesday morning,

So much for the sunshine and warmer days.

Fall is officially here, last night I even turned on my fireplace for the first time in 6 months.

Where chill was in the air here, the Dodgers were heating it up against Tampa.

Today we have another cooler day. With fog and highs barely to 70s:

Good Tuesday morning,

A cooler week will continue, with a few twists. Today we are starting out again with fog.

Today, however, we should see a faster burn off with off shore winds starting later today.

Wednesday should lead to sunnier skies with less fog. Highs will still stay in the mid to upper 70s along the coast and mid 80s inland.

Good Monday morning,

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Now it is back to the work place for another week of fun.

Our forecast for the week is going to be more in agreement to everyone. Last weeks heat will turn to seasonable nice.

Highs on the coast in the 70s and valleys in the 80s with some marine layer to start this morning.

Good Thursday morning,

Tax day for those extensions. Finally a dodgers win…

Last night I was driving to LA at 8 pm and the winds were blowing along the 101 and the 405 with temps at 89 degrees.

This has created an new fire in Redlands, so here we go again. We will see the same conditions for the next 2 days.
