Jack's Weather Report
6/22/22
Good Wednesday morning,
This morning there is some subtropical moisture being pulled up thanks to low pressure spinning just south of point conception.
This has created some rain this morning in LA area and the chance for some rain will continue to move north.
Just to the south there is a 40% chance of rain, but here we will see a 20%.
As the heating of the day continues, we will see if the air becomes more unstable.
If areas see rain, it is not a lot. .01 to .25 of an inch, Not much.
The subtropical weather is more August like not June. The rain chances more East tonight.
Thursday, We get back into typical June like weather, with morning fog along the coast and sun in the afternoons.
This weekend expects more of the same, with fog along the coast in the mornings then sun and warming into the upper 70s to low 80s.
The valleys will be 10 degrees warmer with upper 80s to low 90s. just typical early summer weather.

Good Thursday morning,
Fog and wet this morning. From my bird cam, you can see the dampness

Looks like we will see damp mornings in the next 2 days as a weather system approaches the Pacific Northwest.
where they will see rain, and we get a marine layer

Highs along the coast the next 2 days will be cooler in the upper 60s with limited clearing.
In the valleys warmer in the mid to upper 70s.

Good Tuesday morning,
Typical late May weather on tap. High pressure has built in, and the inland areas are heating up.
The coastal areas are influenced by an Eddy near Catalina and are producing fog from LA to Santa Barbara.
This is a normal pattern for this time of year

Easy forecast to type and understand.
Good Friday Morning
Good gloomy Friday,
It is a damp start to the day, as the fog has created some areas with drizzle. Everywhere is cloudy and damp this morning, but I can’t define this as rain.
https://zoom.earth/#view=32.9,-114.1,5.49z/map=live
It is a heavy marine layer. Very typical of this time of year. As I mentioned yesterday, we are entering our next season. Sometimes defined as May-Gray, June-Gloom, and Pea soup. Since we are still in May for 12 more days, we will call it May-Gray.
Today will be cool, damp, and foggy along the coast. Little to no clearing today. high of 55

Good Thursday morning,
Another week literally blew by.
The good news is the winds will start to back off in most locations, except Montecito.
High pressure and offshore winds (better know as Santa Ana) will switch to the Northeast today.
For the past 4 days, the winds have been from the Northwest. The change will do 2 things, most notably warm us up into the upper 70s today, followed by 80s and some 90s over the weekend.
5/11/22
Good Wednesday morning,
Are you getting tired of the wind? The good news is there is just one more night of it. Another low-pressure system in the Pacific Northwest means another round of winds later today and tonight.
The good news is we will get a break from the winds Thursday through Sunday.
Happy Cinco De Mayo
Happy Cinco De Mayo,
May is looking like a typical weather pattern, you can define most weather in May with 2 words FOG and WIND. When there is wind there is no fog.
Highs will be in the mid-70s for most and warmer Saturday into the low 80s.
4/21/22
Good Thursday morning,
Rain is on the way.
The low-pressure system to the north has a long counterclockwise rotation from Canada to the bay areas.
https://zoom.earth/#view=39,-116.9,5.05z/date=2022-04-21,04:50,-7
This will begin to sag south and rain will occur for all starting later in the afternoon for areas north of point conception.
Tonight in areas south of point conception (yes, that’s us). The models have even bumped up the rain totals a bit with 1/3 to 2/3 on the central coast and 1/4 to 1/3 for our area. South facing mountains in SB around 1/2 an inch, and on the central coast up to 1 1/4 of an inch. This is all good news because we will take what we can in late April.

Good Wednesday morning,
The big news of the day is the rain will happen.
Long-range models are always hard this time of year, but short-range models are in and they all agree we will see spring showers with rain Thursday afternoon into Friday morning.
This is thanks to a rainy Pacific Northwest and low pressure sagging into California.
You can see the storm system spinning and sagging towards us https://zoom.earth/
What does this all mean for us? Other than we will have spring rain …
