Good Wednesday morning,

Looks like lots of surfers will be ill the next few days. A west swell will make surfers quite happy.

For non surfers, there is a low to the north which will give rain to Northern California.

Can you believe Christmas Eve day is just 2 weeks away.... wow that went fast....

The best news is we are looking at a dry period.

It now looks like we will see a few weak fronts pass through, but no rain for at least the next 7 days.

Today a weak front is approaching. This is going to breakdown the high and filter in some mid to high clouds.

Good clear Monday morning,

A little chill in the air outside, but we will see dry conditions this week and now looking like into early next week.

This is a welcome change after rain the the past 2 weeks.

The latest storm system that passed through has provided us good rain totals.

All coastal areas received 1 to 2 inches and the foothills and mountains 2 to 3 inches.

Wow, what a great day to be a Oregon Ducks fan.

What a great game .... Rose bowl bound and back in the top 10.

The rain held off until the second half, then it poured down on all the Utah fans.

They are a great class of people however, it just was not their year.  Leaving the stadium with my Ducks jersey on, lots had great class to say congrats.

Good Friday morning,

Are you ready for more rain. Ready or not here it comes again.

This system will be a lot different from the last, but will bare the same results with a fair amount of rain.

You can see low pressure to the north pulling the sub tropical jet towards us.

Yes, call it what you like, Pineapple Express, atmospheric River. You can see it here:

https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/nepac/h5-loop-wv.html

This will bring a longer period of lighter rain. Rain will start up later in the day and continue on and off into Sunday.

Good Thursday morning,

Wednesday gave us quite a bit of excitement in the morning when the skies opened and dumped heavy rain for a 2 hour period.

The good news was heavy rain was short lived and did not do any real damage in the fire areas.

The rain totals were great with this system, especially in the Santa Barbara area.

everyone received 1 to 2 inches of rain. Here are the totals for SB county.

Good Wednesday morning,

Low pressure is spinning off shore and has been moving quite slowly.

We have only seen some light showers, but rain will pick up around 6:30 and we will see a brief period of some heavy rain.

Looks like it will dump pretty good for a 2 to 3 hour period, before turning to showers.

Good Tuesday morning,

My weather spotters report rain on the pass and Refugio beach last night.

This was a result of the moisture plume spreading South as reported in yesterday’s forecast.

Only SLO and western SB county got a trace of rain.

Today we will prepare for the next system.

Good Monday morning,

Hope everyone had a nice holiday and made it home safe and dry.

Today we will see the Pineapple Express or atmospheric river sag south a little.

For the past 36 hours, it has been focused in Monterey area where some locations have seen 10 inches of rain.
