Jack's Weather Report
6/8/2020
Good Monday morning,
Last night we had another round of sundowner winds blowing at 20 to 40 miles any hour.
Thankfully we can now shift that from Santa Barbara to south of us, as a Santa Ana wind event starts.
Northwest winds are now turning into northeast with winds shifting away from SB.
This will create lots of wind in Ventura south. Expect 40 to 50 mile an hour winds today and Wednesday.

Good Thursday morning,
What a difference a day makes.
As we can see along the coast, the fog is back and has moved in. Inland however, is still sunny.

Today the coastal areas will see a cooler day in the 70s. The valleys will still see 80s and 90s for one more day.
6/3/2020
Good Wednesday morning and Happy 60th Birthday to my brother Steve.
Today should be the nicest day of the week, with hot temps in the valleys and warm along the coast.
Santa Ynez will be 95 today and SB 85 degrees, a warm day over all.
This is thanks to high pressure over us, creating a dome and keeping the low pressure to the west over the ocean spinning out there.
6/2/2020
Good Tuesday morning,
Look at what one day does. You can now clearly see another low pressure system that will park off shore for the next 2 days.

This is thanks to high pressure that is building in from Arizona over us.

Good Monday morning,
Welcome to the month of June. As I woke this morning, and walked outside to feed Pearl, you can smell the ocean air.
This is thanks to high clouds and a low pressure system that has cut off in the pacific.
https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/conus_band.php?sat=G17&band=09&length=12
This is going to do nothing more than give us a bit of a subtropical feel with high clouds for the next 3 days.
5/29/2020
Very interesting weather out there right now.
There is a cut off low that started from the south and is now drifting over the central coast.
https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/conus_band.php?sat=G17&band=09&length=12
This does not pack a lot of moisture, but cooler days and chances of thunder storms are possible over night.
Rain is likely over north county of SLO.
Today we will see typical low clouds, but the base is higher than typical. All valleys and coastal areas will start out with fog.
5/28/2020
Good Thursday morning,
The fog machine has been working extra hard and has blanketed the coastal areas.
https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/sector_band.php?sat=G17§or=wus&band=GEOCOLOR&length=12
Today we will see the fog stick around longer, with the fog stretching into some valleys this morning.
Clearing will occur later in the day, with areas right along the beaches remaining foggy all day in areas.
5/26/2020
Good Tuesday morning,
I almost slipped and said Monday. I hope everyone had a nice 3 day weekend.
Most of us stayed at home and enjoyed the beach and new State street. I did both...
The fog will be our friend again this morning, allowing the coastal areas to keep cooler.
Look out in the valleys and in paso. It is going to be 90s with some triple digits.
5/21/2020
Good Thursday morning,
Today we have all good news…..
The wind is over, for the most part.
Governor Newsom gave Santa Barbara county the go ahead for restaurants to open.
The holiday weekend is going to bring us great weather to get out doors.
Another day of no new cases of COVID in southern Santa Barbara county. Today we will see a great day. Highs will be in the low 80s with no winds.
5/19/2020
Good Tuesday morning,
The wind will be the story for the next few days.
The low pressure system is pushing East and will create wind for us. Rain chance go as far south as SLO.
https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/conus_band.php?sat=G17&band=09&length=12
For us the next 2 days we will feel some wind, but nothing too crazy. Temps will begin to rise.
