Good Friday morning,

Today we have a low pressure system approaching, bringing us a welcomed cooler day.

Especially in the valleys where temps will be 10 degrees cooler than Thursday highs.

In the Santa Ynez valleys will be a cool upper 70s today.

Good Thursday morning,

It was another extremely hot day on Wednesday. The only good news was sitting on my deck last night and the sea breeze was starting.

This morning, I could smell the ocean. This confirmed the onshore flow has started. What that means is each day will cool.

Good Wednesday morning,

Holy Cow it was a hot day on Tuesday. Highs in SB was 93 degrees.

Even last night a mild sundowner kept it around 80 till I went to bed at 10pm.

Today we will have one more day of the heat, but it will be slightly cooler.

Highs will be upper 80s coastal and 90s in the valleys.

This afternoon we should begin a sea breeze, which will allow us a little cooling tonight.

Good Tuesday morning,

Are you ready for the heat? Ready or not today will be the hottest day in the next 7.

The winds are mostly calm, still a little down south of Ventura with 10 to 15 miles an hour.

The real forecast is about the unusual Santa Ana Event we will see.

Good Monday morning,

Last night we had another round of sundowner winds blowing at 20 to 40 miles any hour.

Thankfully we can now shift that from Santa Barbara to south of us, as a Santa Ana wind event starts.

Northwest winds are now turning into northeast with winds shifting away from SB.

This will create lots of wind in Ventura south. Expect 40 to 50 mile an hour winds today and Wednesday.

Good Thursday morning,

What a difference a day makes.

As we can see along the coast, the fog is back and has moved in. Inland however, is still sunny.

Today the coastal areas will see a cooler day in the 70s. The valleys will still see 80s and 90s for one more day.

Good Wednesday morning and Happy 60th Birthday to my brother Steve.

Today should be the nicest day of the week, with hot temps in the valleys and warm along the coast.

Santa Ynez will be 95 today and SB 85 degrees, a warm day over all.

This is thanks to high pressure over us, creating a dome and keeping the low pressure to the west over the ocean spinning out there.

Good Tuesday morning,

Look at what one day does. You can now clearly see another low pressure system that will park off shore for the next 2 days.

This is thanks to high pressure that is building in from Arizona over us.

Good Monday morning,

Welcome to the month of June. As I woke this morning, and walked outside to feed Pearl, you can smell the ocean air.

This is thanks to high clouds and a low pressure system that has cut off in the pacific.

https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/conus_band.php?sat=G17&band=09&length=12

This is going to do nothing more than give us a bit of a subtropical feel with high clouds for the next 3 days.

Very interesting weather out there right now.

There is a cut off low that started from the south and is now drifting over the central coast.

https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/conus_band.php?sat=G17&band=09&length=12

This does not pack a lot of moisture, but cooler days and chances of thunder storms are possible over night.

Rain is likely over north county of SLO.

Today we will see typical low clouds, but the base is higher than typical. All valleys and coastal areas will start out with fog.
