Good Friday morning,

It sure was nice of the rain to hold off until the end of the work day. Rain started up around 4:30 in the afternoon and fell till around 10pm. “well after my Bedtime ! :) “

We received around ½ of an inch in most locations from SLO to Ventura. The winner was San Marcos pass with almost an inch.

The rain is now gone and a colder day is the story of the day. Highs will only be in the upper 50s.

High pressure will build in today and keep us dry through the weekend.

Today you will see a lot of high clouds with partly cloudy skies . highs in the upper 50s and lows in the 40s.

Good Thursday morning,

Waking up this morning and walking outside you can smell the change in the air.

It is the smell of damp air as our low pressure system starts to push our way.

As discussed later yesterday, the rain will be delayed a bit to start off the day.

It even looks like we might even be dry into the early afternoon.

Wednesday morning,

Another Chilly start to the day, but a little warmer than yesterday. Tuesday frost was all over the roofs.

Today will be another nice day, but as you look at the satellite picture you can see our next wet event beginning to move our way.

Today is non eventful in the weather front.

Tonight the low moves closer and clouds begin to roll in.

In Santa Barbara we are quite a bit warmer at 53 degrees, but all areas will remain below normal temps today. Highs in the low to mid 60s coastal and valleys. Mountain areas will be in the upper 50s.

This will do nothing more than bring the wind back. Mountain areas will experience 40 to 50 mile an hour winds. Locally 20 miles an hour is likely.

Good Thursday morning,

A weak system is approaching from the north. This is closer to the coast (westerly) so it will bring some light rain to areas to the north. Light rain is likely.

You can see this moving from north to south. Rain will arrive in SLO and northern Santa Barbara county into Santa Ynez later this morning.

It does look like chances of rain drop off south of point conception. Santa Barbara has a 30% chance and in Ventura, rain is not in the forecast.

Good Wednesday morning,

The first wave of a low pressure system pushed through. This will allow north winds to pick up again.

Thursday another wave will pass through. This will give us a better chance of light rain Thursday. The best chance is SLO and northern Santa Barbara county.

The best chance will be Thursday afternoon. Santa Ynez 40% Santa Barbara 30%.

Good Tuesday morning,

What a day it was on Monday. Santa Barbara hit a high of 77 degrees after starting out quite chilly. This was thanks to Santa Ana winds warming us up.

Today the off shore Santa Ana winds will continue, but will weaken. This will allow less wind in Ventura and south.

It will also allow temps to drop into the lower 70s for a high. Still above normal and a great day.

Wednesday an inside slider arrives. This will bring no rain, but north winds will be back.
