Rain Totals
Yes, it has been a great start to March. Also the good news is we still have another series of storms in the forecast. Before we go to there, let's take a minute to look back.
Rain totals were nice; quite impressive in some areas from the 2 systems.
Those are some nice totals. Yesterday was quite different from the first storm on Saturday.
It seemed the rain came with a furry early Monday morning. I was awake at the 4 am hour when the sideways rain came. This was blowing hard from the northwest. Very unusual to see it rain that heavy and blow that harder from the northwest.
Montecito was the biggest winner from that rain, It had .88 inches by 7am and that was from sideways rain.
We all had a good half inch, but again it was a sideways rain. I have a 12 foot covered porch at my house housing electronics and flat screen on the wall which was getting soaked. I had to scramble to get it all covered. Good thing I am a roofing contractor and had everything in my truck!
The day brought a mix of sun, snow, cold air and wind, which made for a very interesting and eventful day.
Well it is all behind us now.
Today some wind. Not bad. Much cooler. High pressure takes back over on Wednesday and then warm up nicely for a few days.
Thursday, the best day of the week, Chambers of Commerce type of day. All visitors to Santa Barbara will love Thursday.
The next system arrives Friday. This is tough to predict timing at this point, so they are giving it a 24hr window to start. Forecasts are saying midnight Friday morning to mid night Saturday.
The system is now also looking stronger, with a good rain totals from 1 to 1 1/2 inches.
Then the extended is not telling us exactly what is going to happen, but it does look like we will have unsettled weather till Tuesday of next week.
So let’s hope to double last week’s rain
Now how about that for the start of March....Happy days have come again!
Bring on lots more rain.
Enjoy the next 3 days of sun and warmth
