3/4/25
Good Tuesday morning,
Looking at an active weather pattern starting over night tonight with a cold system bringing us rain in 2 different phases

Today, a cool start to the morning with lows in the 30s in the valleys and 40s along the coast . Highs today will be in the 50s to low 60s. A chilly day overall.
Tonight the first part of the system arrives. It looks like over night rain will arrive on the central coast, but hold off for us until later in the morning on Wednesday.
The first wave will bring lighter rain and 1/4 to 1/2 inch, with some areas seeing 3/4 of an inch. The second wave arrives Wednesday night and Thursday bringing in the coldest air. Snow level drops to 3000 to 4000 feet making it feel more like January weather instead of march, or spring weather. (this will mess with the poppies that are popping up in the Santa’s Ynez valley) it will also bring the heavier rain with hail possible and rain rates of 1/2 inch per hour. This will be the bigger part of the storm with greater accumulation. Coastal up to another inch and 1 to 3 inches the mountains, especially south facing.
Friday we clear out for the weekend, but chilly temps, warming into the mid 60s.
Another stronger system Sunday night and Monday. It also looks like we might see 2 systems next week which will really help our rain totals.
It looks like we will be moving into a wet pattern with 3 different systems over the next 10 days.
Today will be dry, but rain for the next 2. Then a break for the weekend. Then 2 more systems next week.
