Good Monday morning,

Sunday was just one of those days, that outdoor activities were not top on the list. It even snowed at bear valley for a bit. Here windy and chilly was the reason for indoor activities.

Storm 1 is departing  and it was really about the winds, plus the cold air. Rain was only some pockets with the mountains seeing the greatest rain with Figueroa mountain seeing .28, and the pass with .12, SB and Montecito saw a trace at .004.

With storm system #1 moving East and winds backing off it is all about the storm Tuesday night into Thursday storm.

Today and Tuesday will be dry, with winds backing off this morning. It will also be cold days and chilly nights. Highs will be in the 50s during the day and 40s at night.

Tuesday night rain will start north to south, and this next system will bring us a good rain. This next system has south winds, counterclockwise rotation and the potential for some heavy rain. As always Santa Barbara will get hit hardest with south flow and rotation against our local coastal mountains. Looks like 1 to 3 inches in the mountains and coastal Santa’s Barbara 1 to 2 inches. Everywhere else 1/2 to 1 inch. Rain rates could be as high as 1/2 inch per hour which could cause some flooding in the fire areas.

The storm clears out on Thursday then we will have Friday through Sunday with nice weather, but cooler.

Next week it does appear the models are still calling for 2 more systems between the 10th and the 15th of march, with above normal rainfall.
