Good Friday morning and the last day of February 2025.

I hope everyone has enjoyed the mixed bag that 2025 has brought us in February.

The first half of the month brought us good rainfall, but the second half the tap turned off and we had dry and very hot weather for this time of year. Actually hot weather with highs in the 80s for most of the areas the past few days.

That is behind us now and changes are a coming, starting today. We have the first of 3 systems that will begin to affect us. Today you can see the cut off low lightly spinning off the coast. This should only cause onshore flow and 10 degrees cooling.

It does appear that March will start a lot like February with wetter weather. Saturday March 1st will be fair with just cooler temps. Possible a few light showers, but more likely in the hills than along the coast.

Sunday into Sunday night we will see the rain move in. This first system will bring some ran but less then 1/2 inch. It will be nice to dampen the ground which has been drying out for the past 2 weeks. (time to turn your sprinklers back off)

Next week, it looks like windy Monday and dry weather for the first 2 days. A stronger system arrives Tuesday night or sometime Wednesday. This should give us a good soaking with around an inch of rain at this point.

Moving beyond long range models into next weekend brings us another chance for rain, and this might even be a bigger system.

It has been a great warm few days but that is in the history books now. A few broken records, but most stayed in place, the 80s were great while they lasted.

Now we are close to March, the days are getting longer with daylight showing up at the 6am hour. This must mean daylight saving time is coming and the clocks will be turned ahead in 9 days.

It will also be nice to see some more rainfall between that period.
