Good Thursday morning,

It is interesting to listen to the national news talking about how hot it has been this summer across the country.  It certainly has not been that along the coastal areas of California.

If anything it has been a very cool summer here in Santa Barbara. I don’t know about you, but AC has not really been needed. This trend will stop for the next 4 days.

It looks like we will see a nice warm-up through Sunday, then temps will back off for the work week of next.

The short week for some is flying by and we are quickly looking at another weekend approaching.  https://zoom.earth/

This weekend will be quite different from the last, We are looking for a big warm-up and offshore flow compared to the weather we had last week.

Today the warmup begins with highs along the coast into the upper 70s to low 80s in the foothills. The Santa Ynez Valley upper 80s and getting warmer.

Friday, the warmer weather continues, and expect 2 to 3 degrees of warming each day through Saturday. By the end of the weekend expect mid to upper 80s in Santa Barbara

and mid 90s in the Valleys. Interior valleys triple digits. Next week a cooling trend and onshore flow returns.

Looking out in the Caribbean in the cruise ship world, it looks like ships are going to be dodging tropical systems. A Cat 1 storm Lee turning into a Cat 4 storm drifting toward the East Coast next week. and another is forming.  On the west, calm with only 1 disturbance moving west.

Have a great Thursday

Jack Martin
