Good Monday morning,

Where darkness is just ending, it will be an interesting day for weather, especially in the LA - Ventura areas. Last night Las Vegas had a large thunderstorm move though and is now working its way towards the Pacific coast. San Bernardino had .68 of rain in 30 minutes.

You can see the action on the zoom earth:

For us, we are generally too far north for this first thunderstorm. It will affect areas Santa Monica and south.

Rain chances for us is going to hover at 20 to 30% , but mainly later in the afternoon and overnight.

It will be a humid day with an east coast feel.

High will be in the upper 70s coastal after the fog burns off and 10 degrees warmer in the valleys. We will be watching how the heating of the day, affects the chances for thunderstorms to develop.

It looks like the best chance for Santa Barbara and SLO county’s to see a thunder storm will be later in the afternoon into Tuesday noon in SLO.

Keep your eyes over the hills, that’s where those big puffy clouds will start and build.

As for the rest of the week, it will be warmer with around 5 degrees above normal.

High pressure will keep the valleys warm and fog will hang around along the coast in the morning. Temps in the valleys around 90 and coastal upper 70s.

The monsoonal flow will end Tuesday but might be back towards the end of the week.

Enjoy your day, and keep an eye on the sky over the mountains.

Here is the LA area right now.
