Good Monday morning,

Wow that was quite the downpour last night around 10pm. The skies just opened up and dumped rain for a short period.

I am not sure if I believe this, but my weather station shows 1.36 for yesterday and .43 for today.

Regardless, most local areas have seen close to an inch of rain.

The front has passed through now and we will see showers the rest of the day. It is actually quite impressive with good counter clockwise rotation. This will begin to move through in the next few hours with Santa Barbara getting the best rain totals because of the orientation of the mountains.

By tonight, the storm system will be past us and we will just see much cooler temps and snow levels at 4000 feet.

Some white stuff will be seen on our local mountains, especially in santa Ynez.

Tuesday through Sunday, we are looking at dry weather and no rain until Sunday possibly in north county.

Long range forecast brings rain back next week or around the 5th of January.
