Good Monday morning,

The start of the work week and a hot week is the story. This morning it is warm at my house, with fog prevailing.

The marine layer is 2000 feet thick in areas. As advertised yesterday, the Santa Ana wind will pick up today.

They are blowing around 30 miles an hour in the mountains, but have not made it to the coastal areas at this point because of the thicker marine layer.

Winds should pick up in Ventura and South by late morning. This will bring 30 mile an hour winds to the coast and valleys. 45 miles an hour in the mountains.

This will also bring a rise in temps. Those areas feeling the wind will feel the biggest rise approaching the century mark.

For us in Santa Barbara, no wind for us only warmer temps with highs in the mid 80s today and tonight low 60s for us.

Tonight will remain warm, in the Santa Ana zone with lows in the 70s.

Tuesday will be hot for all. Temps will rise with lower 90s along the coast and most valleys making it to 100.

Tuesday night looks like Santa Barbara might see sundowner wind event, warming us up further.

Wednesday and Thursday no real change. Above normal temps with little to no cooling.

Friday and into the weekend, we will see some cooling, but it will only bring temps back to normal for this time of year.

It looks like the end of September and the start of October will bring us hot weather.

Enjoy the week, bring lots of water with you.

Jack Martin
