Good Thursday morning,

Subtropical weather is arriving as Elida is bringing us high and mid level clouds. You can see them streaming over us:

Today there is a 20% chance for showers, then this afternoon a better chance of thunder storms in the mountains.

The heat wave starts today and will last likely through Monday.

Highs are going to be quite warm everywhere, but close to the coast will be the place to be. Most inland areas will see triple digits Friday through at least Sunday.

The coastal areas will see 90s in the foothills and 80s at the beach. True summer weather.

It is looking more and more like a beach weekend, as lots of folks will be flocking to the cooler ocean.

It is interesting to look at the subtropical jet as there are a number of disturbances heading the same path as Elida.

This might give us an extended period of hotter weather and chance for thunderstorm in the mountains.

My best advise, stay in the shade and get outdoor work done earlier in the day.

See you at the beach this weekend, here is the tide schedule.
