Good Monday morning,

I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day, for me it was special with my 2 daughters who are both due with baby girls in June.  Blakely my two-year-old granddaughter thinks she will be in charge.

Today we will welcome some May Gray weather. Yes, typical weather for this time of year has returned to the coastal areas.

Yesterday the marine layer never broke along the coast, just over the San Macros Pass it was sunny and 80 degrees.

This week we will see a similar pattern, with fog, drizzle, and damp morning the next few days.

This is thanks to low pressure over Oregon that is driving the marine layer onshore. In the next few days we will likely see little to no clearing along the coast. There is even a slight chance for some light showers over SLO county on Tuesday. For us in Santa Barbara, the best we will have is some possible drizzle and the marine layer. If we see any moisture out of this it will be a few 100s of an inch. Just enough to dampen the streets.

Days will also be cool with highs in the 60s coastal and maybe some 70s in Santa Ynez.

Wednesday the low pressure blows through and North winds return. Expect Wednesday and Thursday to be breezy, but the sun will return to all areas.

Looking into the weekend, it looks like another low-pressure system will return and there will be another possibility of light rain on Sunday.

Looking back a week ago, we were seeing record heat. This week cooler temps and fog.

Enjoy typical May-June weather......

hopefully, we will start to see restaurants and wineries begin to open again this weekend. That will bring us a ray of Sunshine.

Have a great week and stay healthy.
