Welcome to the first day in May, and the hope that we will now transition back to normalcy in our lives.

Thank you to Governor Newsom and everyone that sent him a email yesterday.

I do believe our voices helped influence the right decision to keep beaches open in Santa Barbara.

Now we just need to make sure we follow the rules and tell the 5% to shape up.

Today we wake to sunny skies, as the wind has blown any fog out to sea.

We will have nice seasonable weather through the weekend with only some winds in the evenings Friday and Saturday.

Temps will be slightly above normal with highs in the 70s and some low 80s in the valleys.

Sunday looks to be slightly cooler as a weak system rolls through and cools us off. Still nice in the lower 70s.

Starting Monday through Thursday now, we will see us transition back into warmer temps as high pressure and off shore winds move back in.

It looks like Tuesday through Thursday will be the warmest days with highs in the 80s and 90s.

At night, temps also appear to be mild with 60s and some low 70s in LA mid week.

For the weekend, low tide is mid day Saturday and Sunday, so beach walks will be great in the 70s.

I will be there enjoying some peace after another long work week.

Have a great weekend, enjoy the outdoors. This is why we decided to live in California.

Remember social distancing. Eyes will be watching.

We don’t want to be the next Orange County.

Low tide 11:58 am Friday 12:45 PM Saturday and 1:26 pm on Sunday.
