Good Sunday morning,

Are you ready for some Action? We will get it from this strong low pressure system. This is a large system, with all the ingredients for a big storm. Spinning over Nor Cal still:

Rain is as far south as Monterey right now.

This will move south today and bring everyone moderate to heavy rain.

Rain will start up in SLO around 11 am and move south in the afternoon. Rain in SB around 2 pm, Ventura around 4, and LA tonight.

This is no spring storm.

It is a strong winter like storm with cooler air, which will combine with sub tropical moisture. It will bring 1 to 2 feet of snow above 6000 feet.

Some snow will fall as low as 4000 feet as the cold air arrives.

For everyone else, lots of rain. Rain totals are still in line from yesterday. 4 plus inches in the mountains above SB, Montecito hills 2 to 3 inches,  SB 1 to 2 inches, and all other areas .75 to 1.5.

Heaviest rain will fall over night . From 6 pm to noon Monday. SB will see the heaviest rain from 6 pm today to 5 am Monday. Then it all turns to showers, with continued rain through Monday.

The low wants to stick around through Wednesday. This means we will see mountain showers Tuesday and Wednesday.

Showers will spill over into the coastal areas. Where thunder storms develop rain, rates will be around .75 per hour. This will create some minor flooding and debris flow.

It looks like Thursday the low moves East and we begin a drying pattern. Then a nice warm up for the weekend.

Ok, let’s get ready for a good rain, keeping everyone at home. Maybe it will even wash the Corona virus away 😄

Batten down the hatches, it is Game on this afternoon.

Have a great day.
