Good Saturday morning,

Blue skies and sunny weather today, but a strong winter storm is going to bring us heavy rain Sunday later in the afternoon.

Here is the low just now coming into northern California.

Today we will have a nice day with highs in the upper 60s.

Sunday the low pressure system starts to move south and will cause rain to develop North to South.

Rain will start up late morning in SLO and late afternoon in Santa Barbara, Ventura and LA in the evening.

This is going to be a strong storm with heavy rain and good rain totals. This low will have good south flow, so Santa Barbara and foothills will see the most rain.

Heaviest rain will occur between midnight and noon Monday. How much, well, mountains of Santa Barbara can see up to 4 inches, Montecito 2 to 3 inches and Santa Barbara 1 to 2 inches.

All other areas .75 to 1.5 inches. Rain rates will be good with .25 to .50 of an inch per hour. Some areas with thunderstorms will see heavier rain.

Rain will turn to showers Monday afternoon with snow levels dropping to 5500 feet. Some higher mountains will see heavy snow accumulations.

Tuesday through Wednesday, it looks like we will still see some shower, as the low just wants to hang around. Rain totals will be lighter both days with around ¼ of an inch Tuesday and ½ inch on Wednesday.

Thursday the low should move out and bring on dry weather for the weekend. All in all, this will be a great late season storm.

Today is the day to get outside and take a walk. Today low tide is 2 PM, so Hendry’s beach will be a great place to take a walk, a huge open beach for social distancing. Besides, the view of the ocean is Uplifting.

After your Beach walk, go to the Boat House and get food and drink to go, then take it on the sand and enjoy. They are open for take out and they need our support.

Bring your beach chairs and blankets, that’s where we will be …. Have a great day and smile, even if it is under a Mask 😊

Support local restaurants and be sure to Tip Big. They need our support in these difficult times.

More about the rain on Sunday’s forecast, have a great day.

Thank you Action Roofing! On a ridiculously busy and rainy day like yesterday, I greatly appreciate you taking care of my client’s leaking roof. As a realtor, I make sure to always take care of my client’s needs before, during and after our transaction. It is wonderful to have a great company like Action Roofing to rely on to do the same! Thank you!!!
