Good Thursday morning,

Are you ready for the wind. This is a northeast wind event. SB and Ojai will not be affected, but if you live in Ventura to Santa Monica you are feeling the winds already.

Winds starting to pick up around 2am in Ventura south. This will blow the marine layer away and into SB. Looks like SB will see some fog until late morning.

For the wind, it is going to be a strong event. Winds gusts in the mountains 60 to 75 miles an hour. Valleys 50 to 60 miles and hour, coastal 30 to 40.

This event will take place from now to mid afternoon on Friday.

This is a cold system, so normal compression of winds will not heat the air much . A matter of fact, where there is no wind, the air temp over night will be in the 20s and 30s.

This of course will bring us a high fire danger for all. Winds and dry air can spell trouble.

Also the new power outages will be a nightmare for some. Northern California had this yesterday and there are many unhappy customers.

I heard a PGE truck got shot at and was egged yesterday “this is the ramifications of lawsuits I guess“ someone always has to pay.

For us, we will watch and see how the winds affect southern areas for the next 36 hours.

Johnny make sure your roofs are bunkered down .....

Saturday and through the weekend then into next week we will go back to seasonable weather and no excitement from the skies at least.

Hang in there, if it gets too crazy, come to SB where we will have nice calm weather.

Here is a link to SCE which will show you the areas that may have outages, scroll down to Ventura and you will see most areas that may affect our neighbors to the south.

Thank you for the kindness and personal interest you showed a couple of old folks that desperately needed good advice on our roof project.
