5/7/19 Weather Update

By Jack Martin on May 07, 2019 at 04:49 PM

Good Tuesday morning,

Interesting weather yesterday. Our cut-off low brought Santa Barbara and Montecito rain at 8 am for a few hours.

This was interesting, because north Goleta saw only sprinkles. Rain in Santa Barbara and Montecito was real, with moderate showers.

Even with the morning showers, we still only saw around 1/10th of an inch.

Today, rain chances are gone. We will just have clouds and fog. This trend will continue through Thursday morning.

Temps will be well below normal for this time of year. Highs will be in the 60s each day, with limited sunshine.

Thursday afternoon, the next cut-off low drifts over us. Without saying, this may do the same as Monday's system.

It just depends on the track. This will come clearer on Wednesday.

At this point, looks like rain chances begin over Ventura and LA mountains Thursday.

Then on Friday, it drifts back over the ocean and brings us a chance for more spring showers.

We will just need to see how it all plays out. As mentioned previously, the movement of cut-off lows are tough on the computer models.

Saturday and Sunday will be fair, maybe a slight warm up Sunday and Monday.

In the mean time, enjoy cooler temps with low clouds and fog.
