3/3/19

Good Sunday morning,

It has certainly been very active from the weather front. Next week will be no different.

Saturday’s system brought us almost 2 inches of rain, and between the 2 storms last week, 3 inches coastal and 4 inches in the mountains.

This active rain pattern is going to continue. Today there is still a chance for scattered showers, but where they fall, it will likely be less than 1/10 of an inch.

Tonight and Monday will be dry. In reality it will be one of the few dry days next week.

Monday night, the next system starts to roll in. You can see it taking the same path and rolling in from Hawaii.

However, this one is much bigger:

Looks like rain could actually start to affect the central coast Monday night. Rain will like hold off in the Santa Barbara area until Tuesday afternoon.

This is a much bigger and slower moving storm. It will hang around longer and depending on how much subtropical moisture is pulled in.

It might be quite an eventful storm. Models are still not 100% together on the subtropical moisture, but regardless it will rain hard.

We will know more by Monday morning. Until then, you might want to prepare for quite this event.

1 to 3 inches coastal and 3 to 5 in the mountains. Possibly more on south facing mountains.

This system will be warm, so no snow at lower elevations.

Rain will fall though most of Wednesday, with showers into Thursday.

Friday the next system rolls in.

This one is much colder and rain will be lighter. Rain may linger into Saturday morning.

Then there is one more now, in the forecast.

Looks like a cold cut off low drops down for Sunday. Bringing more rain and snow.

This is still a ways out in the future, but storm after storm keeps rolling in.

Maybe we need to think about what Noah did.

The 40 days and 40 nights of rain is looking more real as our weeks go on with little breaks.

This is and has been quite the year to break the drought.

If you are in a flood area, you might want to prepare. Some minor flooding might occur With the Tuesday - Wednesday system.

Monday morning forecast will really tell us more.

Enjoy your relativity dry Sunday.

Cachuma is up 1% in 24 hours. Just wait till Tuesday nights storm ....

Thank you for coming up to do the demo for the Career Fair at Los Prietos. All the boys were fascinated by the chance to see how sheet metal is formed, and to do some of it themselves. A hands-on demo is always the most effective in getting the boys involved. We really appreciate your arranging the demo, especially since you had already put so much energy into the talk and demo you did for the Construction Technology class. The teaching and Probation staff were all impressed by how involved the boys were in your demo.
