Thursday Weather Update

By Jack Martin on Sep 27, 2018 at 02:51 PM

Good morning,

The current forecast is all about fog and low clouds. This morning as you wake, and the light of day arrives well into the 6 am hour, you will find it damp outside.

Last light did you see the moon (moon pic attached, Adam had a better view)? It was pretty spectacular. If you did not, check it out tonight. It will look really cool at the Bowl tonight at the Alanis Morissette show.

As far as our weather goes in the short term, as I said earlier, it is all about fog and low clouds. With last morning clearing at the coast, inland today will still be warm, but cooling for all starts on Friday and goes through the weekend.

On the Rosa front. She is a cat 3 hurricane now. Out in the ocean, in no harms way for us. This will increase the surf. So you will find lots of folks in the surf Friday and this weekend .

Regarding the rain possibility, well it is still out there. LA and south are very likely to get wet. SoCal and Arizona for sure. It looks like the tropical storm Monday will turn into the shore in northern Baja. This will bring rain to those areas. LA might even see 1 to 2 inches.

For us, it is not clear at this point how things will play out. We should have a better handle on this Sunday. Two models are talking about some subtropical moisture being pulled up from a low to the north on Tuesday and Wednesday. This can result in our first rain of the season. We will watch this as our weekend approaches.

In the meantime, enjoy the fall weather. Days are getting shorter. You can especially tell by the lack of light as we, or you wake up.

Have a great day.
