Good Wednesday Morning

By Jack Martin on Feb 21, 2018 at 03:46 PM

Another chilly start to the day. Freezing temps in the valleys and 40s coastal. This is still not as cold as they once talked about.

This is likely due to some clouds coming into the area, keeping the warm in and stopping the cold from coming down to the surface.

What this really means is, we did not get as cold as we thought....

Satellite pictures show the next system digging down from the north. This will arrive Thursday.

This system looks to be stronger than Tuesday’s, but it is still moisture starved. It has the same path as Tuesday’s. It is mainly over land.

Today will be cold. Most areas will have highs in the 50s, maybe a few low 60s.

Tonight, still cold, but up a few degrees from Tuesday.

Thursday, the next system rolls in. Looks like possibly we could see 1/10 of an inch of rain with this. The cold will continue to be with us.

Friday, cool and transition day. No real excitement.

Saturday and Sunday, we will have a weak ridge form, with a slight warm up. Temps will still be cooler and below normal.

Then there is next week.

We still are not sure what is really going to happen, but models are showing a system dropping out of the Gulf of Alaska.

This should arrive Monday or Tuesday. With that…the rain word will be back in the forecast. We are just not sure how strong a system like this will be.

It does, however, look to be a better chance of measurable rain. Bottom line, stay tuned and as the weekend approaches, we will get a better feel on this.

In the meantime, dress warm and have a great day!
