Good Saturday morning,
Today is all about the heat. Just look at the banner on the national weather service site https://www.weather.gov/lox/
High pressure is peaking today with off shore winds keeping everyone hot 🥵 except right at the coast where the cooler pacific will keep temps in the 80s, but just 3 miles in it will be 100 degrees. Today almost everyone will see temps of 100 or more in valleys and of coarse interiors. Santa Ynez will see 107.
The only bit of good new is we will likely see a break as we get into the new week.
Temps will slowly start to drop mid week as a system moves into the Pacific Northwest and northern California. This will just cool us down with onshore flow returning.
Sunday night and Monday sundowner winds are likely, these can blow up to 45 miles an hour as pressure gradient produces northwest evening winds in SB.
Looking at zoom earth you can tell that high pressure over the 4 corners is keeping all clouds away, however with the heat it does bring some chances for thunder showers https://zoom.earth/maps/satellite/#view=41.5,-152.2,4z
It looks like mainly to the south and over the mountains, but some clouds will be visible even in Santa’s Barbara. Thunderstorm chances in the LA mountains stand at 20% later today and Sunday.
Today might be the perfect beach day if you can find parking and beach space, because high tide is at 1221 pm at 5 feet. The water temp today is 65 degrees and air temp will be around 80 degrees. Now that’s perfect 👍 weather at least, but a lot of bodies on smaller beaches will look like the Jersey shore with groups right next to each other.
Have a great weekend and stay cool 😎, AC for most will be blowing all day.

Good Friday morning,
Friday arrived fast this week after the labor day holiday.
I figured I needed to get a weekend report out today, because it is going to be very hot everywhere.
We have been talking about the heat for a week now, and where it has been quite hot in the valleys and interior.
The heat has now hit the coast. You know when it is 74 degrees at 4am that it is going to be a hot day.
Just look at the national weather service title page with red everywhere https://www.weather.gov/lox/
Today along the coast will be in the upper 80s to low 90s. Just in the foothills a few miles away mid 90s.
Heading over the hill to Santa Ynez, get ready for a shock at 110 degrees. Palm spring 115 plus, it is 99 degrees there right now.
The hot weather will continue through the weekend then beginning next work week we should see temps begin to back off.
Until then, record heat is likely in areas. Stay cool it will be very hot everywhere

Good Tuesday morning,
I hope everyone had a great long weekend, but It is time to get back to work.
Back to work this week will be all about the heat, especially in the interiors and valleys. Even the coast will be in the mid-80s all week.
The heat kick on today, but it only gets hotter as we get into Wednesday and Thursday. How Hot? Well most valleys will be around 100 or at least the upper 90s.
Local foothills in the 90s , coastal in the 80s and deserts 110 to 115 . woodland Hills 105 TO 110 This is all thanks to high pressure and offshore flow https://zoom.earth/
As you can see the dome of high pressure is pushing all systems away from the 4-corner region.
Expect the hot temps into next week, before we start to cool down as a system to the north will bring back onshore flow and cooler temps, until then, just hot .
Bottom line stays hydrated; we will go through a lot of water at Action this week…
On the lighter side, If you were lucky enough to go to the Bowl Sunday night you saw the best show at the bowl this year with John Fogerty and his sons (Creedence clearwater revival)
Just an amazing show with George Thorogood opening.

Good Monday morning,
I hope everyone is enjoying there long Labor Day weekend. It is nice to wake up and have minimal work for today.
The weather has been fantastic for the holiday, but it will be heating up as we get into the weekend. If you look at the map you will see red everywhere but right along the coast.
Tuesday the real heat arrives for everyone but those right on the coast. Highs in Santa Barbara will be in the low to mid 80s, but everyone else is going to get very warm.
Valleys will be in to 90s to over 100. Woodland Hills a hot 107 and more possible later in the week. Palm Springs stay away or indoors
It might be a good day to walk and swim at the beach, water temp today is 66 degrees.
Once the fog breaks which will be around 11am.

Good damp Wednesday morning,
I you are right along the coast you are waking to dampness outside. My house has lots of moisture on patio furniture, cars, and anything outdoors.
This is thanks to cooler weather and a marine layer, 1000 feet thick. https://zoom.earth/
This will cool us off especially along the coast and in local valley . Highs today will be in the mid-70s along the coast and mid 80s in the valleys.
Fog and low clouds will hang around through mid-morning, before it breaks to hazy sunshine.
Thursday the trend continues through Friday with cooler temps and even some pockets of drizzle possible along the coast.
Saturday we will start a slight warm up, but still cooler than normal highs in the upper 70s coastal and upper 80s in the valleys.
Looking towards Hawaii, they continue to see some weak tropical systems heading there way. This is going to make vacation goes sad because rain is likely through the weekend.
Other than Hawaii, the tropical storm season has been very quiet in Mexico and the east in the Caribbean.
If you have not noticed the days are getting shorter with darkness until 6am and the sun drops in the 7 pm hour.

Good Sunday morning,
The weekend is winding down, but lots of fun the week. We had a great full moon this week, and Last night was a blast at Zoofari.
Now it is onto this coming weeks forecast. It is the last week in August with another round of just fine summer weather in Santa Barbara. High pressure is building in and warmer temps will bring back higher temps.
The good news is not too warm. Coastal areas upper 70s to low 80s. Valleys upper 80s to low 90s.
It is hard to believe that next Sunday will be September.
If your traveling to Hawaii you will see some visitors of tropical storms, good news is they will only brush the islands to the north and south.

Enjoy your Sunday, it is back to Action Monday morning!

Good Thursday morning,
A break in the Heat is the excitement of the interiors and the valleys. Last night a little pressure gradience brought in some sundowner winds thanks to an early season storm to the north.
https://zoom.earth/maps/satellite/
This will do nothing more than cool us down over the next 3 days, before the temps begin to creep up Saturday into Sunday.
Also if you look at the satellite zoom earth you will also see a few tropical depressions to the south in the pacific heading towards Hawaii with a possible bullseye.
Today we will start out cooler with 50s to start our morning. highs today will be in the low to mid 70s coastal and a cool low to mid 80s in the valleys.
Friday a carbon copy of today and most likely the same on Saturday. Then, Sunday we start a warming trend, bring back warmer weather into next week.
Enjoy the cooler weather, with some sundowner winds again tonight.

Good Tuesday morning,
Last night the Blue moon lit up the sky and guided president Biden's plane to Santa Barbara 😂 well that might be a little much, but he did arrive at 2:30 am for a vacation in Santa Ynez. He will enjoy our great weather, without having to pay our state taxes.
The weather for us and his visit will be perfect summer weather.
Today we will see 80 in Santa Barbara and 90 to 95 in Santa’s Ynez.
Wednesday another great day, then we will cool down Thursday and Friday by 5 to 10 degrees. The weekend weather is looking to warm slightly each day.
Bottom line, there is very little excitement in the skies except in the Santa’s Ynez area.
One important item is that I need your vote... It is the final week if The Best of Santa’s Barbara in The Independent. Here is the link, please vote in housing for Action Roofing and Action Energy.

Good Monday morning,
We are off to a new week, and it will start off quite warm for the first half of the week.
https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lon=-120.05962371826169&lat=34.617519493991026
It does look like 80s along the coast and mid 90s in the Santa Ynez valley through Wednesday.
The second half of the week we will cool off with highs in the low 70s along the coast and low 80s in the valleys.
This week we have a little more fun with a full moon.
I was in the valley Saturday and watched military helicopter flying at low elevations, and the local airport will be closed.
The rumors appear to be true with President Biden coming to the Santa Ynez valley Tuesday through Saturday:

Have a great week, with a little excitement in Santa Ynez.

Good Saturday morning,
I hope everyone is having a great summer. The weather certainly has been fantastic in our little piece of heaven. It is incredible that august half way over and all the schools will be back in session soon, if not already.
Summer weather is not really that exciting, so weather reports have been minimal, but all is good in my world.
As we get deeper into the summer months the ocean temps are warming up. 66.2 degrees today. That might be quite chilly to some, but for us quite warm. This time of year the warmest the ocean has been was 72 degrees in 2009 and the coldest was 60 degrees so we are right about in the middle of.
https://seatemperature.info/santa-barbara-water-temperature.html
As far as tropical weather goes, there are a few systems in the west but these are just drifting over the open ocean causing no harm to anyone.
On the east coast it’s really the same, unless you are one of the small islands in the Atlantic ocean like Bermuda where they just got hammered by Ernesto
https://zoom.earth/storms/ernesto-2024/
Regarding our local weather, just perfect is the story. Along the coast you will wake to some fog, followed by sun and a high 77 to 80 degrees. In the valleys plus 10degrees with upper 80s to 90.
A warming trend will occur through the first half of next week with temps rising for all 5 to 8 degrees. Next Thursday we reverse to cooler temps dropping into the mid 80s in the valleys and mid 70s along the coast.
Bottom line, we love California … no bugs, no humidity, and mild conditions day and night. Tonight you will hear a lot of laughter from the county bowl where Chelsea Handler will make everyone laugh.
Enjoy the rest of your summer, fall is right around the corner for the rest of the country, but here in Southern California summer still has more than 2 months to follow.
Enjoy and see you are the bowl tonight, if you going to be there and have a great weekend.
