Good Monday morning,

I thought I would start off the week with lake levels and rain totals and percentages for the season and year. As you know we have basically had little to no rain for the last few weeks and this is the heart of our rainy season. Even with the lack of recent rains we are still around normal because of the big storm before Christmas.

Here are the numbers:
Gibralter Reservoir: 96.4%
Cachuma Reservoir: 90.6%
Jameson Reservoir: 100.3%

Now for our forecast. this week is starting out warmer with lows today in the 40s and highs in the upper 60s. This is quite nice for this time of year and the good weather will continue through Friday. Wednesday a weak storm passes but nothing to note.
Dry through Friday.

Friday night through the weekend the storm door opens. We will see 3 days of rain chances and likely 1/2 to 1 inch and 2 inches on south facing mountains.

These are early numbers, but time will tell, as we get into the week.

Basically the party is ending and we will resume the typical wet pattern that we find in January and February each year. This does not mean rain every day, but generally we get a week or so of rain then a break for a week. This will likely be the case all the way through February and into March.

We are in an El Niño year...Enjoy the dry weather this week, it will be a wet weekend
